Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1: Bagdogra Airport / NJP Station to Gangtok Transfer
Our representative will be there to receive you at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra (IXB). You will be assisted for the transfer to Gangtok – the capital of Sikkim, known for its tranquility, adventure, monasteries, mystic rituals, and festivals. Situated at an elevation of 1670 meters / 5480 feet, Gangtok is one of India’s most visited spots, renowned for its beautiful rhododendrons, orchids, and butterflies. The journey is nearly 120 kilometers, approximately a 4-hour drive. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. The evening is free to explore MG Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
After morning breakfast, set out on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, located about 40 kilometers and a 2-hour drive away. Situated at an elevation of 3753 meters / 12310 feet, Tsomgo Lake is an oval-shaped water body about 50 feet deep and often covered in snow. It is home to the Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds. Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir, a revered site. Return to Gangtok and enjoy your evening roaming around MG Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Note: In case of bad weather, landslides, or political issues, the Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir visit may be canceled as per STDC guidelines.
Day 3: Gangtok Local Sightseeing (Half Day) & Transfer to Darjeeling
After breakfast, begin a half-day local sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit the Flower Show, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (closed on Sunday), Dro-Dul Chorten, Bakthang Falls, and Gunjan Monastery. After lunch, proceed to Darjeeling, approximately 110 kilometers (a 4-hour drive). Situated at an elevation of 2123 meters / 7001 feet, Darjeeling is known for its breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens, and spectacular views of Mount Everest. It is also home to the famous World Heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). The evening is free to explore the Mall area or Chowk Bazaar. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 4: Darjeeling Sunrise from Tiger Hill & Local Sightseeing
Start early in the morning at around 3:45 AM for a drive to Tiger Hill, situated at 8000 feet / 2440 meters, through forests of oak and magnolia. Witness the sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and Batasia Loop. After breakfast, continue with a half-day city tour that includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tenzing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sunday), and Natural History Museum (closed on Sunday). Return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 5: Transfer to NJP / Bagdogra
Enjoy a morning breakfast before your transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra (IXB). The journey is approximately 80 kilometers and takes about 3 hours. Guests are advised to start early to ensure a smooth journey. Proceed with your onward travel plans with cherished memories of your trip.
